Rewatch S6: Live Free or Twi-Hard (6.05)

Oct 01, 2011 20:35

This is the second time I've had to do the notes for this rewatch, because my computer hung and I lost all my earlier notes. So, now I'm doing the notes while I do the clothing catalogue...so, we'll see if I notice more or less...or I will, since I'm the only one who might remember what my notes looked like before. I've also had a couple glasses of ( Read more... )

I have to admit, I loved the total smackdown of Twilight in this episode. I could not believe it came out as blatant as it did but I laughed at it. Actually, I did not think Sam did such a bad job at lying but there is just an underlying something in souless!Sam that induces some doubt and leaves you wondering how sincere it was. I hope I am explaining it well.

Yeah, I think I know what you mean - in that, there's no real reason NOT to believe him, and yet you don't believe him...the way he is just sits uncomfortably in your chest.

The smackdown of Twilight was epic, and yes, amazingly blatant - and I too, loved every second of it. I really don't like those books. :P

I so wanted Dean to be able to keep Lisa and Ben in his life...I still do, even though they are 'gone.' Why does it have to be all or nothing for Winchesters?

Very effective episode, though I still don't quite follow RoboSam's logic in letting Dean get turned--even knowing there was a cure, how was he sure Dean wouldn't feed before he was given it? Lot of faith there, which makes sense for real Sam but not RoboSam IMO.

Well, that's the thing, it doesn't HAVE to be all or nothing - they just seem to think it does. *shrug*

I think RoboSam thought that if he just kept an eye on Dean, then Dean wouldn't feed - I do think that he panicked a bit when Dean escaped out the bathroom window. I'm sure he thought that all he had to do was watch Dean until Samuel got there, and then Samuel would explain that Dean couldn't feed and therefore Dean wouldn't - because he would be motivated by the cure. It's either that or Sam didn't actually care one way or the other if Dean lived or died, but to me that makes even less sense than having a bit of faith in Dean (and Sam's own ability to keep him confined to the motel).

I think it's more a case of misreading Dean.

In soullessSam's mind, Lisa and Ben don't really matter, so he never even considered that Dean might want to go visit them. So as long as he kept Dean with him, he'd be able to stop him from feeding, so no risk.

Wanting to say goodbeye is after all an emotional thing, which is something that soulless Sam just doesn't understand the need for.

Very good point. As I said, RoboSam thought he could keep an eye on Dean, and was not expecting him to escape through the window. I'm sure he thought that if Dean wanted to go somewhere, he would tell Sam first and Sam would be able to dissuade him.

I'm such a Jared fangirl. <3

Me too...and I didn't use to be. I started out as more of a Jensen fangirl, but Jared just won me over completely with his talent.

Here's to being childless forever *raises glass*

Yeah, Jensen is great too - but I've only ever seen him as Dean, so it's hard to compare really. Jared has been so many different people on just the one show. :P

I looked up her userpics! Haha, that icon is hilarious. ;)
