Rewatch S7: Of Grave Importance (7x19)

Oct 27, 2012 00:06

Okay, back again! I meant to have this up earlier, but I slept in - so it's another day where I'm having lunch for dinner and dinner at midnight. I'll do better on the weekend.

Look it was a while back, we ended up on the same case - she was stressed and I didn't...have a soul. )

don't know if you have any brothers or sisters, but boundaries in regards to the bathroom disappear pretty quickly when your house only has one toilet, which happens to be in the bathroom*eg*

I grew up with 3 siblings, but we're all very... I don't know what the word is, but we all had very rigid clear boundaries. We're even (partly) Finns and had a sauna growing up - but we all used it separately once we hit our teen years. I think the closest we got to this scenario was talking to each other through the sauna door. :P

In our family when we were teenagers, we were just glad the bath had a shower curtain. If someone urgently needed to go to the toilet, you'd just close that and hope they wouldn't stink too much*eg*

I preferred the house we lived in before that one, at least that one had a toilet outside of the bathroom, you have no idea what a luxuary that is, until you don't have it anymore ;-)

Yeah, we were really lucky growing up, because we had a house with three bathrooms and two showers. Mind you, you couldn't run water while someone was in the shower.

It wasn't that this was a bad episode, it was actually pretty interesting, but Bobby as a ghost? I think the writers never should have gone there. Or if they did, have it be essential to the plot, which it was not. I also thought Annie was in Dean's spanked age range but neither Sam's nor Bobby's. Still, it was kinda funny they all slept with her.

Yeah, that's my problem with it too. They seemingly brought him back for absolutely no reason - other than to add unnecessary angst.

I'm not sure what "spanked age range" means...but, maybe that it's believable that she'd sleep with Dean but not Bobby or Sam? Anyway, obviously she doesn't care much about age. :P

Don't you love the spelling correctors? So I wrote "Spanked age"? My god, more like a Freudian slip!!!!

I was thinking that Annie was likely 5-10 years older than Dean, but 20 years younger than Bobby. So Dean seemed mostly her age.

Haha, okay, autocorrect, gotcha :P

I'm thinking Annie is at least 10 years older than Dean, maybe 10-15 years younger than Bobby. So, yeah, at least 14 years older than Sam. Hey, it's all good... they're all consenting adults. ;)

Bobby: "Give them a moment, they've got a little slower since I left."
- They have, and it annoys the crap out of me. We should be beyond this at this point. For the record, I actually think this ties into the line about this stuff tastes the same all over. I assumed they ARE getting a little slower since Bobby left because more and more of the Leviathan High Fructose Corn Syrup is getting into the food supply, especially fast food places. Now restaurants wouldn't dump the old special sauce until it was finished and shipments may go out to different regions at different times, so since Sam and Dean move so much, sometimes they are getting Dick's make them stupid additive and sometimes not. So they really ARE getting slower because of the Leviathans, but it's not hitting them as much as some people because they aren't getting a daily dose ( ... )

Oh man! See, okay, they should have TOLD us this - that way there would be an explanation as to why Dean and Sam aren't making any progress whatsoever on connecting the puzzle-pieces with Roman enterprises. It just really annoys me that Dean got all obsessed about finding out what's happening in Wisconsin, but now that Frank's dead - he and Sam don't even seem to be looking into it at all either. There's seems to be this stupid mentality of "let's see what he's planning and then fix it" rather than "let's thwart his plans so that they never get implemented."

the ghosts we saw in this episode were sane and Bobby, who knew something about the whole ghosts and why they go bad couldn't even hold it together for more than a few months. This is why I think it ( ... )

Maybe it's because Bobby knew that he devolved sooner?

Also, Molly was only active once a year, so that could have been part of what kept her sane for a longer period of time.

As for Mary, she mostly seemed to be dormant, until the poltergeist became active.

I agree totally on the 'ghost Bobby' storyline. When he died, everybody was sad, the boys had their mourning period and we all moved on. But then all the 'mystery' stuff started to happen and we (and the boys) were thinking 'Bobby?'. Then we had GhostBobby, and for the most part, it was cool, but as you say, he went from being helpful to being dangerous and his memory started to get tarnished. They should have just let him RIP ( ... )

Agreed.

LOL, spoken like someone with no children.

We're going to have to disagree on this one. I might not have children, but I was raised by a mother who let us have sex in our rooms with our friends and we turned out just fine.

Ok, this is something that is never bought up, but Annie sleeping with practically every man that 'works' with her, doesn't make her a girl with good morals, shall we say. Again, going to have to disagree on this one. Firstly, she didn't sleep with "practically every man" that she worked with. She just happened to have slept with Bobby, Dean, and Sam. And I mean, who wouldn't? I'm sure she has worked with a lot more people than that and NOT slept with them ( ... )
