WOOOT!

Those who know me well are probably already aware that I liked this episode - but LET'S TALK ABOUT IT THE USUAL LENGTHY WAY!

Can we actually have good things?! )

Lots of good stuff in this one, and very little bad! I particularly liked: Eileen back; Bad-ass Cas brushing off bullets and taking down the djinn; and Witch!Sam.

The bad witch plot I could honestly take or leave, because the rest of it was better for me. Still no Billie and Jack, dammit. I’m guessing the next ep before the Christmas break will be the reveal there. And maybe by then Dean will have snapped out of his cereal-and-dead-guy-robe funk.

Agreed agreed! I've nothing to add.

Well... I WILL add that it'd be nice if Dean and Sam addressed the fact that they ALSO lost Jack. I feel like right now the writers are only focused on Cas' grief, and it kind of irks me. They did a better job when Jack was dying last season and they had equal amounts of worry between everyone.

Thanks! I never saw True Romance, so not surprised I didn't clock that reference.

I never catch repeating actors either, or at least very rarely, because I've got a horrible memory for faces. Seriously, I'm the type of person who genuinely gets anxious that I've forgotten what friends look like and won't be able to pick them out of the crowd when we plan to meet up in public. I have purposefully pretended that I didn't see people before just so that they would call my name first and confirm that it was them. I once completely overlooked my white bestfriend in a small crowd of ASIAN people.

That being said - WOW, a bunch of returns!

And yes, I'm definitely going to be worried about people dying now - we've made it this far, please everyone stay alive!

I'm actually liking the fact that we can't tell what's God and what isn't - I think it's a really cool plot-line. But then, I've always been partial to psychological plots.

Wasn't the mom the manager of arcade in the Clown Episode?

Knowing you would like this episode made me like it more! I was a big fan of Dean’s pajama pants.

I have so many questions about this enormous bathtub. Is this Sam’s regular bathtub? Also, the Men of Letters have BATHTUBS and not just efficient up-to-code showers? Does Sam take baths in this thing regularly? I need fanfiction on this topic. (I have to admit, when the tub was filling I was like “OhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHH,” until I realized it was for a spell, and not for him to clean witch guts off himself.)

I’m surprised this isn’t the one they gave Jensen to direct, because he’s hardly in it at all. I wonder if something was going on?

“I did Jack” is not at all the way I heard it, but your commentary made me LOL.

I also have questions about the bathtub... it looked pretty modern, for one. Was it something the Winchester's installed themselves? The Bunker is a magical building that has rooms rotate on a need-basis, but it's still always decorated in 1930s Art Deco style. I'm not sure what tubs looked like back then, but I'm pretty sure they weren't that sleek! The showers would be 1930s showers too, whatever they were. Also, why is the tub in a big room? Were they like - let's take out these weird communal showers, since there's just two of us, and put in a big bathtub - woot! So many questions ( ... )

I was so happy to see Eileen again! It gives me hope that there might be a happy ending.

I would also be happy if they brought back all the innocents from season one that Crowley killed to make Dean and Sam answer to him in season...12? Sarah from Provenance, the kid from Wendigo, the guy from the lake episode...those deaths never sat well with me. If the writers don't, then it's going to happen in my head!

This season seems to be starting off slow, and building with better and better episodes. I hope it continues!
