I just have the final two now to go, and I'm done S1. Pretty snazzy. Today's episodes are Provenance and Dead Man's Blood. One of them is interesting, the other one is not.
Well, I guess I wouldn't be super confrontational with people I didn't know, but towards my own family, yeah. They'd get the unblunted business end of my skepticism. I was thinking about this conversation when I watched S02E20 tonight and I think I came up with a pretty good explanation for Sam's questioning ways. :)
Naw, I don't think you'd be horribly confused. I love your fics, and I think you write them all very believably! But as for why I'm so attuned to John, I think in similar circumstances, I could become John. I also feel I share personality traits with Sam. That's why I contend that the two of them are much more alike than they realize or care to admit. It's funny but I find it hardest to get into Dean's head.
My hubby's family is like that, bickers all the time. Used to make me really uncomfortable. Now I just tune it out!
I just read your take on Sam, and it made a ton of sense!
It's funny, because I find it easiest to get into Dean's head. Except for the difference in our devotion to our fathers, Dean and I are actually pretty damn similar - we both have a younger sibling that we pretty much raised, we are both the devoted-defender-types when it comes to people we love, and we both have similar inexplicable insecurities.
As for the bickering, I can't really explain it. Out of a family of five, only one of my sisters every bickers...she's the odd one out. The rest of us have conflict sure, but we have sort of silent conflicts that are resolved equally as silently...sort of, action not words, if you know what I mean.
