Upstairs, I sat on the bed, gently running my hands over the spread. The cover smoothed, and I sighed.

It had been a while since we had been here... a while since we had all been alive. Cordelia had gone into a coma, but we had all been so hopeful that she'd come back to us. After all, it was Cordy- the girl that had kept the visions, even knowing that she was dying, the girl that had become half-demon so she could keep the visions. He sat there, broken like a reed that bows and takes on the color of the earth. It was foolhardy of any of them to consider him their leader. "You crumble in the face of conflict" I informed him, "This matter does not require violence, and as such you hide your face from the others in shame. A true leader would not be this lost."

I expected words to spew from his mouth, lamentations and excuses to justify his weakness. Weaknesses were not justifiable. Let him take offense at my greeting. His opinion weighed less than his breath.
