Marvel now desperately wants to do an Avengers movie, since the Avengers is the last of their major properties that hasn't been exploited on the big screen. To do an Avengers movie, you need Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. Don't ask why; you just do. Optionally, you need the Hulk, and Ant-Man. Iron Man and Hulk have been done already, obviously. Current theory is that you do Iron Man 2 and Ant-Man in 2010, Captain America and Thor in 2011, and then Avengers in 2012. Obviously, this keeps Sam Jackson busy for quite some time.
