I found Anna Karenina to be a bit of a drag, but it did have some scattered, excellent observations on living in general.

Dorian Gray, now...well, Wilde's always a joy. :D

The Sound and the Fury was a read I really enjoyed. Some very limited POVs including an autistic boy and an extraordinarily broody introspective kind of guy. The whole thing is Southern Literature through and through. All the same, good story and very interesting narration.

How about Shakespeare or Alexandre Dumas? Don't know what else to suggest, when I read the classics, I'm reading Roger Zelazny or Robert E Heinlein.

Dumas is good. I hear good things about The Three Musketeers; I can personally vouch for The Count of Monte Cristo's awesomeness.
