He tried, he can at least say that.  They worked as fast as they could but the bastard stile got to rise...so much for proving to the angels he could do this, that he was worth giving a shot.  He figured they'd be at least kind of happy that Samhain was dead now...but at what cost ( Read more... )

Uriel was gone. For the moment, at least. The seal was broken, but Castiel... wasn't sure it was a loss. The town was saved. All of the families, the green of the park, the flowers and trees, all still existent, rather than a smoldering wreckage. He sat with Dean, feeling the radiating pain and struggle through the bond, and folded his hands in his lap, quietly waiting for Dean to speak ( ... )

Huh...looked like maybe there was a God. "Well good cause I'm really not that interested," he shook his head and went back to watching the people.

Then again he had no idea what other reason Castiel could have for being here. He could find out, it'd be easy too. He wouldn't even have to speak, just poke that stupid little invisible string that suddenly came into his life and tied him to this angel whose approval rating in his eyes seemed to change daily. He could find out why he was here, what he wanted, and how he was feeling....but he didn't. He was don't with that shit. Don't with pointing the stupid bond that just seemed to get stronger.

He tilted his eyes away from the people just enough to watch Dean in his peripheral vision. Always defensive, though this time, he had a right to be. Considering the ordeal before the death of the witch, Dean would naturally assume he'd brought down a holy reprimand. The likelihood was that his superiors probably believed this to be a failure, were he any other angel (especially Uriel), that may be the case. As it stood, he was... different. He... wasn't so sure this was right anymore.

"I'm not here to judge you, Dean."

Funny, cause that's exactly what Castiel and every other angel he'd met so far had been doing at every turn, judging him. He was the righteous one, he was some dirty ape. He was important. He wasn't worthy. He was sick of these people he barely know telling him what he was and what he was worth and what he should do.

"Then why are you here?"
