When Dean said he had someone he wanted to check out, he wasn't really expecting... this. He thudded up the stairs and into their cabin, then faltered to a stop at the sight before him. Which was Dean.

Talking to Dean.

...

His first thought, naturally, was whether or not he could get them into a threesome. His second thought was that the younger version had to be some sort of shifter, but that was abruptly cut short as a load of feeling washed over him. A sensation of their bond, piggybacking through time from when he was still an angel, practically slapped him in the face, and he drew back.

"...Woah."

This was too much. He strode forward, eyes locked on Dean from the past. "It's you."

"Yeah, I know it looks like me but what I need to know is what the hell it really is," the older Dean's hard stare never left the doppelgänger.

Dean, on the other hand, didn't think he'd ever been so happy to see his friend. "Cas! It's me, come on man you know it's me. Tell him!". He reached out as best he could with the bond but felt it mostly blocked and stunted.

He felt it, there, the ghost of a whisper, a nudge against something deep inside him that he couldn't distinguish. Not even the strength with which Dean still carried his bond was enough to really open what Castiel had lost with his grace, but it was enough to be certain.

He moved forward automatically, hand digging through one pocket for the other set of handcuff keys.

"It's you, Dean," he said, eyes locked on the younger version, despite the fact that he was speaking to the man behind him. It was just so.... strange, seeing this younger one. How far back? Five years? He glanced over his shoulder to his own Dean. "Not now you. Then you. From before."

He glanced down. "Zachariah?"

Dean beamed at the ex angel when he saw the handcuff key. "Yes! Knew you were to smart for this Cas! Knew you'd know it was me!". He tried to ignore how different Cas looked, the lack of suit and trench coat alone was weird, but the facial hair was a little freaky. Still, he was Cas! He was a familiar face and he seemed to know what was up.

The older him stood up, taking a few steps towards Castiel. "Me from before? What the hell do-" and then he heard a bane uttered that made him freeze. "Zachariah?"

"Yes! That ass sent me here, trying to pcomments point about something."

Dean had to hold himself back from rushing his younger self. "Zachariah...is he still here?! Where us he?"

Dean frowned, a little creeped out by older him. "I don't know...he proofed away,"

The older man visibly slumped and reached out to put a hand on Cas's shoulder. "Give me the key, not ready to unlock this guy yet."
