Dickens Christmas Fair has been a real experience. I think the single most valuable thing that I get from working a faire is camaraderie. My mates made sure I felt loved. Now that it is over...there is a feeling of loss ( Read more... )

That last line really sums it up. We've both called in "sick" today, and here we perform The Ritual. The pile for the dry cleaner. The shoes get knocked out and put away. The soot gets banged off the jacket. Picking sawdust (and some hay, still) of things. The piles of clean, dirty, needs-a-box ...

Especially without Novato, it seems the Sleeping Season is even longer. But like all seasons, Fair/e comes around again, and I can't wait for everything it brings - after a good solid winter of rest ;)
