The Obligatory Ten
I got tagged by highwaymen01, and who can refuse him?! Am I right?!
So here's my 10.
1. I was in 4-H, and that is where I learned to craft leather, decorate cakes, build rockets, and write in calligraphy. It is also where I learned to work well with people.
2. I have never been in a fist fight. I was taught to talk my way out, and I am very good at it.
3. I have a deep interest in religion (of all kinds), and the cultural traditions that accompany it. I was raised a Lutheran, and as part of the youth group, I helped write and perform a Sunday service.
4. My parents are still married, and have been for more than 35 years. I graduated from the high school where they met.
5. I love the idea of poetry but I have trouble taking it seriously, especially if I know the author personally.
6. I have spent a night in a police station drunk tank. It was in the city of Oakland. It sounds scarier than it is.
7. I had laser surgery on my eyes in 1999, and I recommend it to anyone.
8. I have a sister, who is exactly one year and one week younger than me. We shared our toys. I played Strawberry Shortcake with her and she played Masters of the Universe with me.
9. Language fascinates me. Good grammar in writing is important to me, and I pay close attention to spelling. I love the inflexible grammar of computer code.
10. From 1986 (at age 10) to around 1996 I listened to Country music. I blame this for making me into a melancholy romantic with a penchant for whiskey.
