5 things meme, round 2...

Might have one more of these to do- depends on if I stumped berrylicious877 or not. =P

Original post can be found here.

I'll see if I can not ramble so much, on this one.

From ainael_1984.
1. Light Beer
I should start by saying that this doesn't refer specifically to light beer, so much as me drinking beer lighter than Beth likes. =P She enjoys dark, rich European beer, while I like not having to chew my drink. I like a beer that has flavor and that I don't have to nurse. That's not always necessarily "light beer," but I guess that depends on your preferences. (for more on beer, see below- seems I got pegged for beer twice)

2. Big Words
I do like my big words. I think I've talked about this before, but I just like the way they sound when spoken, and how they stand out in print. I do have a problem of overusing them on occasion, as well as sometimes using a new one that stumps everyone. I get a little bit of mean glee out of my friends going O_o "wtf does that mean?" I really don't try to sound smarter than I am, I'm just a word nerd. Beth acts as beta on a lot of my writing, and more than a few times I get the note "this character wouldn't know this word, let alone say it."

3. Gummi Bears
My sugary weakness. Also a constant threat of being a prop. On vacation years ago, Beth and I were bored (or possibly on a sugar high FROM gummi bears) and did a skit of Harry Potter gummi bears. We took pictures, posted them online, and proceeded to answer many "WTF?" messages from our friends. Good times. But now every time my stash is replenished, we go "we need to do a ______ gummi bear skit!"

4. Anime
I talked about anime in my 5 from Q, so I guess now I'll talk about how it relates to my friends. When Beth and I were getting to know each other, I invited her to go with my group of friends to A-KON with us. That's really how she met everyone else. Also, after high school when everyone went off to college, A-KON was how some of us would reconnect after a year away from each other. We'd also get together for cel painting or viewing parties.

5. Crowded bedroom
Oh, get your minds out of the gutter. I have a lot of stuff in my room, it's no secret. It gets on my nerves every so often, but a lot of it I don't feel I can live without. I don't want to put all my books away, or get rid of the desk or dresser or 4th bookshelf. Everything has a cluttered sort of order, but there's just so much of it. Most people can't fathom having as little floor space as I do (in fact, I get a lot of uttered obscenities when I give tours of my room), but I make do with it.

And from tastyeyeliner.
1. Cupcakes (FOR MORE THAN ONE REASON)
In general, I do a lot of baking. Not as much as a professional and not nearly enough to drive me back to the gym, but I'd rather bake than cook any day. Stephie has caught on to this, and my last few gifts from her have included baking-related goodies (like a really fantastic cookie cookbook). I never DID get a chance to make her something while she was here, though. =P Also, when we went to Edgefest last April, Gerard of MCR called himself a cupcake. Now I make the association between him and cupcakes a lot, and Stephie and I often call him that in IMs.

2. Laundry
When Stephie was living here, we often had laundry dates. There was no sense in her going to a creepy laundromat and spending hard-earned quarters on crappy machines, so she'd come over to my house every 1-2 weeks to do her laundry here. We usually cooked up lunch, sometimes brunch, and spend a lazy day on our computers in front of the TV while the machines hummed away.

3. Beer
I figure if I get this twice in one round, I must be doing something right. I do enjoy my beer. I took an entire class on alcohol (Beverage Survey, God bless you for that, UNT), and while I took special care to learn things about wine and spirits, I still kicked the most ass in the beer section. I'll drink beer 4/5 of the time at bars, clubs, or restaurants. I can taste it better, too- I can barely distinguish the bouquet in wine, but I can taste the spices and flavors in beer. I can sometimes (only sometimes!) taste the different types of grains, too.

4. College
Aaaaah, college. I loved it. I loved that time in my life. I grew a lot in those five years. There's always so much more to us than we know, until stress, love, other people, idealism, and fear force us to confront it. Okay, yeah, college is technically there to get us educated and trained for The Big Kid World, but that's absolutely not all there is to it. It's a place for us to redefine ourselves into something legitimate. It's NEVER easy and you'll have to struggle with a lot of it, but you get out of it what you put into it.

5. Tattoos!
I really love my tattoos. I only have three right now, but I want more. I don't want to be COVERED in ink, but I want to wear my heart on my sleeve in certain ways. I've never gone alone, it's something I do with my friends so we can support each other (it's also more memorable when I can, say, look at my Libra scales and think "oh, this is the one I got when Manda got hers on her foot that swelled up for a week"). I also have a (mostly) matching one with Stephie, from her April trip.

I get to see The Morning Light tomorrow! \o/
