Hannah is playing it, and Emily is playing her japanese version. You can definitely email them about it. I totally wish I had the time to play such a long awesome game, but I don't. I'm almost finished Holic, and then I have to watch the second season, then Lucky Star, then read the bunches of manga and novels I have, and then conquer the many games I haven't finished. *sigh* I need more time!
I think I will! But ... I should give them time to finish. I don't want to accidentally ruin it on them. D:
P4 is slightly shorter than the last one! :D *nudge nudge* ... I just need other people to get hooked on this so I can feel better about it eating my brain, lol.
I can't figure out how to describe it properly. D: It's odd, the style of play really threw me for a loop when I started P3. It's like, half your typical RPG dungeon-crawler, half school-simulation? This one is a murder mystery, so you play through each day of an eight-month period, going to school, meeting friends, trying to figure out the culprit, etc. Lots of story. But then once every month or so, you'll go into this other world to rescue the killer's victims, and that's where all the fighting takes place.
Personas are basically ... Pokemon? You use them in battle and they've got spells/skills/etc. There's ~170 or so, and each of them is assigned to one of the major arcana of the tarot. The sort of simulation-type relationships you can form with other characters also each represent one of the arcana, so as your relationships strengthen, you can get more and better Personas.
...It sounds ridiculous, but it's fabulous and I love it like crack? :D
