Oh, I know this feeling so well. When I would have to go on vacation with my parents I went mad from a lack of internet and was going through these same issues so much.

Also, word on Rome. I love the city but it's so chaotic that it ups my paranoia levels something awful (kinda like NYC) and I can't genuinely enjoy it.
