Helm: *inflicts quality time with Eight on Hani*
Hanild: You'd send him all the way here for that?
Helm: I'm visiting
Hanild: Oh.
Hanild: Hi :)
Helm: Hi. *snatches up Gram*
Hanild: How're you?
Helm: I'm good. My ancestor's trying to take over, but he's a bit insane
Hanild: Ah. Well, let me know if you need any of the men from here.
Helm: Eight's good eno--good god, my brain's just not working lately. um. Gram's gotten a lot bigger lately.
Hanild: Yes, he has. That's your fault.
Helm: causing growth with my secret powers. I knew that ring was good for something. *hands him back*
Hanild: *cuddles* Mmm. Are you staying long?
Helm: do you want me to?
Hanild: Of course. I miss you.
Helm: then I guess I am.
Hanild: We'll have to get you a room ready. Do you want to stay in the keep or a cottage?
Helm: the keep. Can I borrow Gram? I've found out that small children make Eight panicky.
Hanild: Uh...
Helm: >.>
Helm: it was a long ride
Hanild: I don't particularly want him anywhere near my son.
Helm: he's harmless.
Hanild: Just so long as you don't let him hold Gram.
Helm: I doubt he'd want to
Hanild: Well, ok. I trust you.
Helm: there's a good girl
Hanild: I try.
Helm: is there anything you should reveal to me before I stumble over it?
Hanild: Have you heard there is?
Helm: maybe
Hanild: Will you promise not to kill it?
Helm: is it hurting you?
Hanild: Not at all.
Helm: I promise
Hanild: *sighs* *small voice* Wulf is here.
Helm: ah.
Hanild: Much better than I expected.
Helm: You react badly to yelling.
Hanild: Generally, yes.
Helm: so what is he doing if he isn't hurting you?
Hanild: Living. Spending time with Gram.
Helm: and why did you forgive him?
Hanild: *blinks* Because I think I understand him.
Helm: I strictly forbid you to rape your enemies children
Hanild: I didn't say I agreed with it or condoned it.
Helm: just making sure. I want grandkids, just not that way.
Hanild: I think Gram's all you'll get, unless Haleth decides to have some.
Helm: no remarrying?
Hanild: Me? That's very doubtful.
Helm: why?
Hanild: *bounces Gram* There isn't anyone I'm all that interested in marrying.
Helm: talked to anyone who isn't related to you or Wulf?
Hanild: There are several hundred men here.
Helm: and none catch your eye?
Hanild: Not particularly.
Helm: *disapproving noise*
Hanild: Perhaps I should try them all to see who I like best.
Helm: I get the hint. New topic
Hanild: I just find it amusing that at one point you never wanted a man near me and now you're disappointed I have no one to marry.
Helm: you've got a son now. Need someone to help
Helm: especially since you don't want to live in Edoras where I can watch over you
Hanild: Haleth's here. And Wulf.
Helm: Your brother is a fine man but I doubt his usefulness and not touching the second.
Helm: and in any case, you need someone to actually stay with you. Especially if you're anything like your mother. *plays with Gram's hands*
Hanild: ...what is that supposed to mean?
Helm: did you know that she could use my hammer? >.>
Hanild: No, I didn't.
Helm: ah. Well, I didn't either until... well. I did go on trips once in a while, to see relatives, hunt, etc. And I took your mother and your brothers once. And I left her alone with them for two weeks while I went out and got myself lost. That's how I found out about the hammer. Then I had to figure out carpentry.
Hanild: That...was entirely lost on me.
Helm: was it? Oh well. *plays with Gram some more*
Hanild: I don't see why Mama using your hammer has anything to do with needing a man around.
Helm: oh, two weeks alone with your brothers drove her to trying to break my legs for causing it when I got home
Hanild: Ah. Well, I’d be used to being left alone.
Helm: I still think it's going to lead to madness. Or possibly scary dependence on your son.
Hanild: Well, perhaps I will marry again. It just doesn't seem likely anytime soon.
Helm: fair enough.
Helm: she did manage to get my ankle, actually. Hurts during rainy weather
Hanild: *smiles* I wish I could remember her.
Helm: oh, she's left me a lot to remember her by. If only I could share...
Hanild: Probably best not to then.
Helm: come on. Being able to bend your thumb all the way is overrated
Hanild: Oh, I don't know. I'd like to know anything about her.
Helm: a argument over some petty thing. Her uncle, I think. I tried to catch her before she stormed out of the room and she slammed the door on my hand. And that is what happened to my thumb
Hanild: She had a temper then.
Helm: another reason why I was bewildered by the pacifism
Hanild: Maybe it skips a generation. Do I look like her?
Helm: *nods*
Hanild: *excited* I do?
Helm: yep.
Hanild: Was she small like me, short anyway?
Helm: A bit taller
Helm: not much though
Hanild: *pleased to no end*
Helm: same face shape too. *pets* I think next time I'll tell you the story of what happened to Hama's first horse
Hanild: *snuggles* Thank you.
Helm: oh good. I've brought joy
Hanild: Yes, you did.
Helm: I should make a quick escape before it becomes something else. *kisses her forehead*
Hanild: Ok.
Helm: *goes*
Hanild: *still pleased*
