♘ app: herememoriesin fringe there are two universes where things are similar but different. at the end of season two olivia gets trapped in the alternate universe and her alternate version, altlivia, takes her place in the original universe. in the alternate universe olivia is experimented on by walternate and they attempt to convince her that she is altlivia. when she escapes from the prison facility the adrenaline triggers the drugs they injected into her and she comes to believe that she is altlivia and always has been. this means she has all of altlivia's mannerisms and memories but is biologically olivia. her dormant mind makes her hallucinate peter bishop, who altlivia has no memories of, and he tries to convince her that she is actually olivia and that stint of denial was not the true craziness. eventually he succeeds and she recovers her own memories while retaining only her memory of what being like altlivia was like.
