seven interests meme

I got this from angisdrunk. The way this works is that I make a post of seven interests on my LJ interests list and explain why they're on the list and what they're all about. Then you can leave me a comment to pick seven of your interests and you make a similar post. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Here we go...

Eddie Izzard is one of my idols. You GOTTA love a guy who can do comic standup about history! HISTORY of all things! Fucking brilliant!

I am interested in lucid dreaming, too, though I've only done that during nightmares. Eeeeks!

Totally, the first thing I think of is all the history-related stuff he does in his routines. You gotta be brilliant to do that and make it funny enough to keep people interested.

Eeee, lucid dreaming during nightmares? That sounds.. well, nightmarish. I hope that never happens to me. Though I guess I'll never know if it does because my dream recall is totally shot.

Sweet, another Ween fan on my flist! I love how everywhere I go I run into people who love them and yet since they're not commercially huge they're considered to be unsuccessful. Well, that'll just be mainstream music's little secret, won't it. ;)

And that's a classic lucid dreaming moment -- seeing your hands during the moment of realization. It's never happened to me oddly enough, but 90% of the stuff I've read on lucid dreaming contains the same or similar moment.

What's your favorite Ween album? Just randomly curious.

And yeah, what the heck, let's do the penpal thing. I haven't done that in ages. It'll be fun. :)

Fair warning though, you're going to have to put up with my atrocious, childlike handwriting. Okay, maybe it's not that bad, but years of keyboarding (80-90wpm!) have wrecked my handwriting skills.

Shinola Vol. 1 is such an unexpected answer since it's a rarities collection. Nonetheless it's a good answer because there are some great tracks on there. "Did You See Me?" is one of my favorite songs of theirs. They don't do it live very often, but I got to see them do it in Santa Cruz during the last tour and it was the highlight of the night.

And, yay, we'll be chicken scratch pals then. :)

Plus, re: Facebook, added you back!

Where did you see them live? I saw them in Cincinnati and it was an okay show. Then I saw them in Santa Cruz and it was fucking mindblowing. Everyone was on acid and the band was on fire. One of my reasons for wanting to go back to California is so I can see Ween in the proper context again, lol. :)

Still a no go on the phone as of tonight, but I think I'm going to get it fixed tomorrow as luck would have it.

LOL! OMG, before I even opened the video the last line of your comment had me thinking of that theme song. I can't believe that's actually were the link led. I really had no reason to be thinking of that song. I haven't seen that show since I was a kid and my mom was watching it.

Okay, not only do we have a ton in common, but the psychic/mindreaderish stuff is starting to happen. You rock, my friend. :)
