It's been a while...
...since I posted. There's been a lot going on, one of them being that I FINALLY got the internet at home. Now I can record my goings on (hehe) in my journal here!
At my brother's going away party, my friend Danielle brought a friend, L for me to meet... hehe. Well, by the time they got there, I had two drinks and a good buzz on. There were a lot of people I hadn't seen in a long time so I was buzzing (hehe) around talking to everyone - not really good timing to meet someone new, ya know? Whatever, we all had a great time anyway.
Fast forward now to June. I was picked to be on the cover of Out In Jersey magazine and they asked me to march with them in the Asbury Park Pride Parade. Was I going to turn that down? HELL NO! I got paid (just a little but still) to go have a blast and sign freakin' autographs! That day I met up with Danielle and her friends, including L. Her and I were chit chatting and all was really good. I told Danielle later that night that I thought she was cute and the message was relayed (I am such a dork hehe).
We started hanging out and she told me that she was madly in love with this chick H from way back when she was in college (I always seem to dig the ones who are emotionally unavailable...). The thing about H is that... well... she's basically straight. She fooled around with, and I guess had a relationship with L, but never any other girl. She's dated men and was even engaged to a guy up until this past fall.
hmmm... now the complicated part... she's coming.. probably tomorrow night, from Kansas City to visit family and of course L who has been waiting for 8 years now to tell her how she really feels.
I'm surprisingly okay about this whole thing. We actually have a vacation planned for the end of August to Myrtle Beach, agreeing that if H wants a relationship with L we'll go as just friends (we both truly need vacations). I really like her a lot, we are on the same level - financially, maturity, socially. We both like hanging out with each other. At first, for both of us, it was going to be a sex thing. But we have so much fun doing other things as well. Like today! She came shopping with me for an iPod for my brother's birthday! (I have to ship it out to the USS Nimitz where he's stationed!)
Yeah so things are really great right now. I'm enjoying life.
