Well, it turns out my motherboard is toast. They no longer make what I was using and most of my other hardware would not be compatable with a new one, so I'm having a new system built for me by Compuzone. The good news is that I don't have to switch to the evil Vista this way. They had a bit of trouble at first getting info out of my hard drive,

Not so much withdrawal as anxiety for my files. I didn't back up as regularly as I should and if my data can't be transferred, there's a lot that will be lost. It doesn't help either that I had no idea there was any problem with my hard drive. I'd already accepted and even looke don the bright side of the motherboard thing, so hearing there was trouble with my hard drive as well really rained on my parade.
