Ya I didn't quite get the twitter point. I joined for a purpose once and ended up not using it. Now I understand its purpose and why I ended up not using it. Cause I have friends.
Anyone that falls into that category has been removed from my friends list. I made some good friends on my projects that I typically only talk to again at conferences or never again. Twitter allows me to share some experiences with folks all over the world. One guy was at his weekly fight club in London tonight. Another just moved to South Africa. I've got local friends that give me a heads up on weekend activities. (Tomorrow is a choice between a bike ride at Stone Mountain or a hike at Pocket Trail and Keown Falls trail). I no longer have to rely on email mailing lists for a lot of my social connections.
I wish that I had friends that call (and a few of you still do). I used to call around. I could spend every weekend calling around to see what's going on. It's much easier for me to post my doings, see what my friends are doing, and then jump on it. LJ used to provide that. Now it's Twitter + LJ.
Personally I enjoy the short glimpses into the lives of my twitter friends.

Video is still funny. Hell, I have a twitter and a facebook - I still think it's funny - because of how true it is.
