Ahaha, I should have provided a little cultural lesson there. Mawi was this winner of Academi Fantasia (sort of Malaysia's local equivalent to American Idol). There was this fuss about the kampung (village) boy making it famous.

Following his being catapulted to local stardom, there was this ugly mess where he dumped his first fiancee, because he got famous. Yeah. Lame like that. ^^ And apparently, I'm related to him by marriage. Rather tenuous connection obviously, but I'm still appalled at the idea of being remotely associated with him XDXD

Ahaha prease to be buying those dresses then :) It will make my sister's friends very very happy. (and yes, I will be picking up German again, so you can look forward to butchered postcards written in der Deutsche again...)

Ahahaha ah soooooo! We have the same over here too, ahhh "Academy Fantasia" and "The Star"... oh how I hate these shows for producing more of the most insipid Thai pop singers ever... I mean, at least some of the AI alums have actual singing talent and artistic merit...

Bummer for that uh, unfortunate association of yours though! Hee, it does make for a good story, you have to admit ;D

I AM INHERENTLY DISTRUSTFUL OF ONLINE BUYING of clothes that I haven't gotten the chance to try on myself (because I have fiddly proportions), but rest assured I have made Ma note the name for the next time she heads over to S'pore for whatever assorted mysteriously things she does there from time to time :D
