How cruel... this chapter is so short in comparison to the debut last month *tear* The art seems a little better though, at least in my opinion.
So, the chapter starts where it left off with the mysterious letter. Loki's questioning the validity of the request, seeing as it mentions a witch. Moreover, he's suspicious because the sender didn't leave their name with the letter. All the while, Mayura is as antsy as ever to go inside the house.
Loki being Loki, suggests that they should turn back, but Mayura doesn't hesitate to put her foot down. She asks if Loki has the money to pay the fare going back - knowing all too well that he doesn't - and as such, it's implied that Mayura's the one who paid money to get them there, LOL. Of course, it was Mayura's idea to go there in the first place (Loki didn't want to go for the aforementioned reasons of the letter), but that's irrelevant (to Mayura, at least). She tells him that he has to fulfill the request so that he can get paid and pay her back her savings... which I'm assuming she's been spending on him, seeing as he hasn't been working, hahaha.
Then a strange woman appears, asking if he's also here to search for the witch. She notices that he's quite handsome and asks if he wants to team up with her (Mayura seems pretty shocked by her boldness, lol). That being said, the woman escorts them in to reveal that there are others who have also been called upon request; however, the client is nowhere to be seen. They're all suspicious, but as it can obviously seen by the decor of the house and the table set up, the client is quite rich which gives ample reason for everyone to stay. So it seems it's going to be a kind of race to see who can find the witch first.
Loki takes his time, as per usual, and decides to help himself to tea, but like always, Mayura's impatient and decides that she'll solve the case on her own. Loki tries to tell her it's dangerous, but before he can finish, she's already gone. This scenario is quite familiar, isn't it? Loki thinks so, too, and reminisces about days past. "Everyday there was a mystery / and various people came." He even thinks to himself, "Well... the other's are gods, so they're probably doing fine."
There's a pause and he also thinks of someone? "Only one-" he thinks, "Where did she come from, and where did she go to?" (I'm assuming he's thinking about Spica, but I could be wrong).
Anyhoo, he decides to get a move on himself when there's a scream from outside his door. He goes to see and finds one of the people he previously met. She's dead, and he wonders if she just fell from the stairs or if she was pushed. Lo and behold, there's a note with her body, and it reads, "If you don't hurry, everyone will disappear." Loki questions if it was the client who killed her, or if it was one of the others. No matter, he sets off to warn everyone and look for Mayura.
On his way through the mansion, he goes through many rooms until he comes across a bathroom (and he seems pretty happy about it - LOL, I figure it's because he hasn't been able to relax and take a nice bath in a while? *shrug* - but he talks himself out of taking a bath, remembering the current situation). He goes in to check for anyone, only to find another body.
AAAAND that's it for now, folks. Dun dun dun, tune in next month for another chapter?
EDIT: I wonder if Loki was thinking about Reiya instead of Spica, seeing as her picture is right there next to his thought on the "only one." I mean, we all know that Spica ended up with Utgard Loki, but we don't really know what happened to Reiya after Freya returned to Asgard. Hmmm.
