We've had two snows this week - wheeeee! Yes, I know that'll make some of you just *yawn* but we often don't get two decent snows in an entire winter. Everything looked so beautiful on Wednesday morning, it was a magical feeling, and so I grabbed a bunch of pictures before running off to work - I figured the monster storm predicted for the ( Read more... )

It *is* a lot! Anything that didn't get periodically shoveled during the storm has to be taken in three or four layers. The funny thing about shoveling the driveway is that it leads to ... nowhere. Plow hasn't even made it to our cross street and they say it could be mid-week before it does.

Glad you liked the pics (do they look too dark to you?)! And yes, actually - there's something coming on Tuesday that might give us a couple inches more.

Is BEEEEEE-U-TEE-FOOL!!! A real winter wonderland. ;) I know you were thrilled with the whole thing - except that cleaning off the car thing, which is hard enough for little shits like us, two feet of snow notwithstanding. ;)

See my icon? Isn't it the loveliest? Oh, wait -- you made it for me! Wheeeeeeeee!!

*hugs o'squee and thanks*

The clearing off the car thing? Yeah, even being careful, I got a face full of snow a couple times. Husband went out this morning with one of these and a snow shovel to clean off the roof of the Subaru! Now that it's dug out, we could drive a whole 25 feet before getting completely stuck in the untouched road.

Why, hello Mr. Cardinal, don't you look princely there on your snowy branch? *needs to come up with a general wintery icon*

Don't you have a cardinal icon? I thought you did... Cardinals say winter to me! Why can't you use the one you made for me? Or do you mean you need a "snow" icon? Your neighbor's hemlock looks pretty wintery! Or your beautiful cherry. You've many lovely pics to icon from - can't wait to see what you come up with!

I don't think I have a snowy bird icon... See, I had thought I'd come up with the perfect winter icon *points left* but with that wreath on the door, it's a bit too Christmasy. *shrugs* Maybe I can do something with the cherry tree without losing too much definition.

Hee! I should have put up a side-by-side set on that corner garden. What has me amazed this morning is that my sister, who lives just outside Annapolis, got over 30"!

Oh, Deb! What beautiful pics...they're all so very pretty, (and staggering!) but I particularly love the first shot of your weeping cherry. That image would work really well as a Christmas/greeting card, imho. 'So serene and lovely!
Enjoy your hot buttered rum...You deserve it, you snow shoveling dervish, you! (hee.)
Thanks for sharing this, dearest!

I love the way a light, wet snow will stick to all the rough bark of the cherry's trunk. We need at least three inches before it starts to look like that at the bottom, and we got nearly five Tuesday night - Wednesday morning was beyond beautiful.

There's bright sunshine and that crystal blue sky outside this morning, and while I'd love to tromp through the neighborhood (yes, even if it did mean snow down my not-tall-enough boots), but I'm tired! Had that hot buttered rum yesterday afternoon and promptly fell asleep in the chair. ;)
