First, let it be known to all and sundry that I am *not* one of those people who is filled with bustle and energy come spring. I hear tales of people who fling open their windows and clean their home from top to bottom and I cringe. Spring saps my energy - all I want to do is curl up in a little ball and doze ( Read more... )

Thank you! It took us a long time to actually begin gardening here - we did veggie gardens within a year or so of moving in, but actually making the yard look nice? Not till just a few years ago...

I have several of the same plants in my flowerbeds... cups and saucers, hostas, lily of the valley... but they are just peaking out at the moment (although all the snow is gone! yay!)

your garden is very pretty =D

I love those cups and saucers! I was convinced the blasted vinca had strangled them so it was a total delight to see them blooming. Everything popped here because of those three or four days of 90-degree weather (yech!) we had at the beginning of the month. Much more like springtime now.

Ah, dearest Deb! Your garden is so beautiful and so lovingly tended...thanks very much for sharing your pics! How wonderful that you have "family" crocus bulbs, and primroses for heaven's sake! (All I have to do is look at a primrose and it's a goner!) It's quite obvious that all of your hard work is not in vain!

Your journal looks so pretty and verdant, by the way! Love the green!

Lovingly tended? Well... maybe. The poor primroses have just stuck it out while I basically ignored the vinca in that garden - it's a wonder they didn't give up! And honestly, these are ancient and very plain primroses - the flowers are about as big as your fingertip - I can't keep the fancy ones alive for anything.

Glad you like the new look - thanks!

It's funny - I used to feel like I killed everything I touched, but somehow the yard has put up with me, lol. I'm sure your garden will be (is?) lovely.
