Baby hedgehog! I love this little guy perched in his prickly bed. No great, deep meaning - he's just adorable. And everybody needs an "awwwwww…" icon, right? ;)
The keywords for this one say road goes ever on because the instant I first saw the picture, the voice in my head began reciting Tolkein's poem. For me, there could be no better depiction of these words…
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
I always smile when I see this cabin, though I have no clue where the real thing stands. I am pretty much a hermit at heart, but I (currently) live in Northern Virginia. See that capital "N"? Sets us apart, it does, and with good reason since this area is rather different from the rest of the state. I know there are huge parts of Virginia that are lovely and open and pleasant and even quiet, but I'm in the DC suburbs and the traffic drives me nuts. If I open my windows, I hear the Beltway 24/7. I would absolutely love to head down that road and never come back.
Senior cat, now only cat, this is Bonnie. Regal and beautiful, she runs this house. And at 17, we happily let her because husband and I both adore her. Right this very moment she's sleeping beside me, snoring her dainty little cat snores.
Dinna fash. If you've read Diana Gabaldon's Outlander, there's no need to explain. And for those few of you who don't already know, it's a lovely way to say don't worry. It sounds even better when said by a hunky Scotsman wearing a kilt.
