The sewing machine goes whrrrrrr whrrrrrrr whrrrrrrr....

Have made some progress my new quilt, which really means I've finished sewing all the bits I had pinned together, bringing me one little step closer. One thing I love about making quilts is that each "step" is bigger - first you take baby steps by sewing little bits together, then slightly bigger ones, and after a few more times through your bits ( Read more... )

Yes, yes - busy! And now they're all clipped apart and stacked up (except for the ones I've already pressed). *beams*

Once again, I bow to your mighty quilting prowess, dear friend!
Looking forward to seeing the evolution of what I'm sure will be a truly lovely creation.

It's so satisfying to see the blocks grow. Have clipped all the squares apart and stacked them up neatly. Have even begun to press - yay! Next time through it's going to start looking like something. :)

Lovely 'pile o'' right next to the well stacked neatness.
It's gonna be an awesome quilt!

Funny thing is the back mound (the higher one) has to get all sorted with the matching squares from that neatly stacked pile. I really am excited about it. And impatient - I wanna see it NOW.

You know how I envy your quilting abilities - from the design aspect to the choice of materials to the execution. You are brilliant. There is so much work that you've already done to get to the point where you are now -- your quilts are a true labor of love! *huggles*

Sometimes interim bits of the process amuse me. I had planned on taking a pic with all the sewn-together triangles dangling off the back of the sewing machine and piled up on the floor, but they looked more interesting when I dumped them in the two boxes. Maybe the next pic will actually look like something! :)

Oddly enough, it was working on *other* sewing last weekend (making some Christmas presents) that kick-started the quilt muse. I'm anxious to get to the completed block stage so i can lay everything out to see how it's gonna look.
