Summary: The one where Kurt and Blaine stay "just friends" until their first year of college, where they conveniently are roommates and meet up with long-lost Warblers (mainly Nick and Jeff), and then swear and have sex a ton. There's some other stuff that happens, but that's basically it.
A/N: Kind of a sequel to One-Eighty By Summer, but you don't need to read it to be able to understand this. That's just a slight background story for this one.

In Kurt's mind, Blaine has come a long way from acting as the charming boy on the staircase that swooned him his sophomore year at Dalton Academy. After they both had transferred to McKinley, Kurt hoped for the entire year that Blaine would ask him out. He never did.
When senior year came, Kurt started asking Blaine to go out with him almost every day as a way to play his feelings off as a joke (because if Blaine ever denied him when he was serious it would have hurt too much.) Kurt believed he was finally okay with just being Blaine's friend. As long as they still cuddled, were able to be completely honest with one another, and took each other on unofficial dates, then Kurt was fine. He figured a best friend in high school was more important than having a boyfriend, anyway. He could wait until college.

He thought this was fine until Blaine had a fling with a boy on his soccer team. It was short-lived, however, since the boy had to move to a different state for his mom's job. Blaine was crushed, and Kurt was secretly relieved but even more secretly than that, he felt bitter.

Kurt always thought Blaine was going to be all of his intimate firsts, but during the last few days of his senior year, Kurt found his drunken self at a party sucking more than just face with a boy named Kyle. Blaine and Kurt had talked about it, and Blaine had helped Kurt through his humiliation and self-disappointment for doing something impulsive, and they managed to get past it how they got past everything else.

Blaine had become a friend of the family, and Kurt just stayed a friend to the boy. They were both excited to leave home and go off to college to pursue their dreams of Blaine becoming a successful filmmaker and writer and for Kurt to be a famous fashion designer and interior decorator.

As far as Kurt was concerned, having Blaine as his roommate in college wasn't going to be that different from how they'd been living before. Blaine used to be over Kurt's house almost every single day and with Burt's permission, they had a sleepover almost every Friday. Blaine hated to be alone.

Kurt hated to be alone, too.

Blaine loves film, loves Clark Gable. He's all about famous actors and films from mainly the 1930's. Clark Gable was from Ohio, and Blaine is from Ohio, so he thinks that's pretty cool still. This actor is the reason Blaine's hair kept its Dalton style until Kurt nearly threatened his life to release his curls from their gel captor.

"I will put holes in all of your scarves and never go get coffee with you ever again if you don't stop with the gel, Blaine."

Serious business.

Blaine really likes screwball comedies, too. He was introduced to them his first semester at McKinley after Lauren convinced him to join the AV Club. He likes the idea of dialogue moving quickly between two characters that is usually upbeat even when the characters are in a bad situation. He tries to convey this idea to Kurt whenever Blaine tricks him into movie-marathons, and he thinks that Kurt can also relate to them since they never show sex...or whatever...
Yeah, Kurt is still awkward about that stuff. Even after he gave some random guy a blow-job when he was drunk this past summer, Kurt acts like it never happened. Blaine lets him think what he wants for now.

Now, it's the middle of October 2013, and both boys have settled in quite nicely to life at Murphy College: School of Fine & Performing Arts. Since both boys were accepted into the honors college, it's just the two of them in their dorm and they have their own bathroom as well.
Kurt showers in the morning and Blaine showers at night in order for them to have time in the morning before their classes start to get breakfast and coffee in the college's main cafeteria.

While Kurt is busy on campus all day with his five classes, Blaine is only taking three classes this semester, choosing to join clubs and to get used to college campus life before he starts to get serious with his studies. Truth be told, Blaine doesn't really know what he wants to do yet. All he knows is that he likes editing short films and writing.
Blaine loves to write. He keeps a journal with him at all times.

I'm never in my own bed anymore. I told you that it's because I don't like to sleep alone, but really I just don't think I can sleep without you anymore. Your skin is always so cold, but when we're sleeping, being close to you is the only way I can keep warm.
I wouldn't tell you this, because you'd undoubtedly call me a creep. I guess I just like being around you.

Mostly he just writes about his thoughts and observations of every day, but these two factors have a lot to do with Kurt. Basically, he has a Kurt journal--a platonic Kurt journal. Yes.

To most people, Kurt and Blaine are obviously going out. To their friends and family: Something's wrong with you guys, we swear, just make it official already.

To Kurt and Blaine, they are most definitely not dating. They just cuddle, buy each other Valentine's Day presents, and hold hands at the movies. Normally, these can just be affectionate friendly activities, but this is Kurt and Blaine.
Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson are both hopeless romantics in their own separate rights. Blaine views his entire life like a movie, and Kurt just really wants to be kissed under a full moon one of these days.

It's almost Halloween and both boys don't have costumes yet. Kurt really wants to have the most original and creative costume idea and to execute it well.

"Hey, maybe we should be boyfriends for Halloween. I bet no one would expect it."

Kurt and Blaine are sitting on Kurt's bed, making friendship bracelets for when Rachel and Mercedes come out to see them (Mercedes went to New York City while Rachel went to LA.) Kurt has an afternoon class in twenty minutes, but he had come back to the dorm room around noon to change his clothes.

"Ha! Very funny, Kurt. You're so original."

"I know, that's why we should, Blaine. Why don't you want to?"

Blaine stops braiding his thread for Rachel. "Because, Kurt, we know each other too well now. What would be fun about it?"

Kurt drops his string and stares hard at Blaine for a moment. "Sex, Blaine. Sex is a fun past-time shared by more people than you'd actually think. It's considered to be the activity that causes babies to be born an--"

Blaine interrupts his sarcastic comeback and smirks. "You really want to have sex with me?"
He knows that Kurt likes to make jokes about other people having sex all the time or about Kurt and Blaine doing it, but Blaine knows Kurt never means what he says. He never has.

"Well, not when you say it like that. Absolutely not."

"No, come on, do you really? You think I'm sexy, Kurt?"
Sometimes, it's just fun to egg him on.

Kurt glares at Blaine's stupid smirking face. It isn't funny to Kurt. It probably never will be.
"You can't say that to me, because I actually like you. Don't hurt my beloved, angelic feelings like that, dick."

Blaine's face quickly matches a kicked-puppy's, and he leans over the bed to hug Kurt. "I'm sorry, baby. I'm just trying to understand why you find me appealing. I've never understood. Here, let's try this: Hypothetically speaking, if there was this one guy that wanted to go out with this other guy, what would the first guy do to the second guy once they started going out?"

Kurt inwardly cringes at Blaine calling him "baby" but then launches into one of his many sexual fantasies. "Well, the first guy would obviously be better looking and would have a superior fashion sense to the second man. But to make up for his lack of style, the second guy would make up for it in bed."

"...And what would that second guy do in bed?"

Kurt bites his lip and scoots to the edge of the bed, putting his shoes on to get ready to leave for his afternoon class. "Well, let's see... The second guy would um, let's see... Be good? Really good? ...In bed? Yes, definitely."

Blaine sighs, standing up to walk over to Kurt who is already putting his yellow pea coat on by the door. "Do you not fantasize about anything sexual, Kurt? Are you still stuck on the ecstasy of finger-tips touching?"

Even though Kurt's back is to him, Blaine can tell Kurt is blushing. "No, I do think about that stuff, Blaine. I just don't need to think about it all the time. Fashion is better than sex, I was just trying to think of costume ideas for Halloween, really..."

"Maybe we should make-out."

Kurt turns around only to eyebrow Blaine before going back to shoving his folders and textbook into his messenger bag. "No. You said it yourself, you think we know each other TOO well, so fuck me, right? There's no fun in falling in love with your best friend. Again, sorry, I'm kind of kidding. Sorry."

"No, I was wrong, come here."
Blaine grabs Kurt by the hips and spins him around, causing the other boy to gasp at the sudden movement.
"I'm going to kiss you now."

Kurt clenches his jaw and tilts his head lightly. "Fine. Go for it."

After he presses his lips gently to Kurt's, Blaine pulls back first to see his reaction.
Kurt just stands still, an intense, expressionless face forming on the boy.
"See? Nothing. Can I go to class now?"

Blaine almost looks disappointed and maybe a little more confused than that. "...Yeah, sorry." He shakes his head, "Sorry."

Kurt throws his messenger bag's strap over his shoulder and walks out of the room, walking down the hallway of other dorms in what feels like slow-motion.
His heart beat is the only thing he hears for three minutes straight.

What was that?
