Perhaps he notices the contrasting smudge of blue amongst it all? Stitch approaches from the opposite direction on all fours, nose to the ground.

Sadly, even the incongruous blue fails to grab Indy's attention. His eyes are unrelentingly trained on the bushes, and, as such, he continues obliviously on the collision course.

Stitch did not have a good night's sleep the prior evening. It has resulted in an olfactory form of tunnel vision. There will be a reckoning when he finds that Bar. Oh, yes. Snufflesnufflesnufflesnufflesnuffle.

Indy may be looking elsewhere, but his ears pick up the sound of the approaching nose-work. It's not unlike the signature snuffle made by a certain tinyphant who lives with him. And said tinyphant is not supposed to be outside right now. It's Steph's watch!

He looks sharply towards the source.

"Oh," he says, on seeing the creature responsible. Words of reproach die on his lips, and he offers a tentative "hello?" instead. In another place, such an odd beast may be treated with more wariness. But this is Milliways, where odd beasts are a dime a dozen.
