Sitting quietly on a bench in the park, Ami tapped away at her small blue computer. She wasn't looking for anything in particular, though there had been a lot of weird energy readings popping up here and there. A simple algorithm would keep track of those, and file them away for later browsing. The blue-haired girl quickly began to write a ( Read more... )

Her...
It was her...

...self?

Mercury stared at the girl on the bench, a stern expression clamping her lips shut. She was less than amused. What game was the irritating bastard playing now? She glanced about, alert, but saw no sign of Kunzite's presence. Well. He was hardly unskillful at hiding himself - if he wanted to.

"Who are you and what's this about?" she demanded of the other 'Mercury' directly. There was a sword in her hand that hadn't been a moment ago, and it was pointed at the 'fake', ignoring the passers-by and their likely reactions.

A flash of blue was enough to snap her attention back to her current surroundings. The blue, however, was the hair of another girl, who was now standing before her. Ami blinked, tilting her head a little as the realization of what she was seeing set in.

The sword's appearance, however, made her jump a little. Instinctively, her free hand reached down and gripped her henshin wand, while folding the small computer closed with her other hand. This was certainly an awkward situation.

"I'm Ami Mizuno... and you are?" she asked, forcing a faint smile.

So this was meant to be a clone after all. Come to think of it, that didn't really sound like Kunzite's work, and that wand was probably some form of henshin item from the way the girl was clutching it. A sailor senshi...?

It figured. It hadn't taken long to be replaced, had it? Those girls were callous, careless, selfish twits, each one of them.

Mercury's lips curved in a decidedly humorless but very interested smile that was anything but pleasant; it was predatory.

"From the Dark Kingdom, senshi of Water and Knowledge, Mercury." The sword was presented in a challenge position, and then lowered again.

The Dark Kingdom? she thought to herself, all manner of possibilities and probabilities instantly spinning through her mind. Something like this would certainly account for the strange energy readings, but why... was there another Mercury, and why was she working for the enemy?

So many questions were beginning to fill the poor girl's head, but with a simple nod to the other blue-haired girl, everything cleared away and she knew what she had to do. When the sword was no longer pointing at her, she squeezed the wand in her hand, and prepared herself.

"Mercury Crystal Power, Make-Up!" She motioned her hands to the sides and kicked out with one leg. A stream of bubbles, each carrying the sign of mercury, appeared and washed over her, leaving her in a blue and white fuku as a ripple of blue energy passed through her.

"The sailor suited senshi of love and intelligence, Sailor Mercury," she replied, an eye kept on that sword for any sudden movement. "What is your intent?"

Well...in a matter of speaking.

[offers her a cigarette, knowing she'd probably turn it down, but still...]

Before I answer, allow me to ask a question. What's your occupation right now?

I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand.

[ Looks a bit awkwardly at the cigarette and politely shakes her head. ]

Thank you, but I don't smoke.

My current occupation would be classified as student. I'm nearly ready to attend university.
