[Drabble] BR Drabbles III
Male Student 15:
Shuya Nanahara.
Before he went to bed that night, he made sure to pack in a small flask of bourbon he had managed to find. Yoshitoki laughed at him for it and said he would probably get in trouble for that. Shuya didn’t care, didn’t mind, and told Yoshitoki that it would be fun anyway.
Female Student 15:
Noriko Nakagawa.
Her brother had eaten the first batch of cookies, so she found herself staying awake late to finish the second one, then finding the perfect wrapping and perfect ribbon. She placed those away in a place her brother couldn’t reach and looked forward to the next day. She hoped they enjoyed the cookies and maybe she would make more another time.
Male Student 16.
Kazushi Niida.
He never went to sleep at a good time, always preferring to stay up late and wake up late, and spent the hours of quiet in the house reading old magazines or going over strategies in his head. He wished he could pack a football in his bag, so that he could practice, but a moment later scolded himself. This trip was supposed to be getting away from things like that.
Female Student 16:
Yuka Nakagawa.
It was no secret to her class that she liked to eat but what they didn’t know was that she had a terrible habit of sneaking food in right before bed. Her mother was always scolding her for it. Yuka had decided to break the habit over this next week and come back a champion.
Male Student 17:
Mitsuru Numai.
He still wasn’t packed, and wouldn’t pack until tomorrow morning, when his mother would scream at him to wake up and get going. He was busy counting the money he’d aquired over the day in various ways and didn’t notice the door slamming shut and his father yelling. He vaguely heard the words mitsuru and gone, but had already switched to thinking about his boss.
Female Student 17:
Satomi Noda.
She had almost forgotten the study trip was starting tomorrow, and had instead been studying for the exams that were next month, as per her father’s request. He had packed her belongings for her too, making sure to tuck in a few study guides. She rubbed her eyes and noted that she’d been awake for two days, and should probably sleep. Then, she decided that she could sleep on the bus.
Male Student 18:
Tadakatsu Hatagami.
His mother was letting him go on the trip on one condition: Don’t do anything outrageous. He had simply rolled his eyes and told her, don’t worry. Of course, he wasn’t going to let her her that he and Yuichiro had quite a few adventures planned and maybe he could get Shuya in on them too.
Female Student 17:
Fumiyo Fujiyoshi.
The nurse had been a little upset over losing her assistant but Fumiyo promised her that she would back and ready to work again, with maybe a little bit more knowledge. Fumiyo also had permission to treat her classmates’ minor wounds on the trip. Since she wanted to be a doctor, she was especially happy about that.
Male Student 19:
Shinji Mimura.
His parents were out of town for the week, so Shinji hadn’t bothered telling them he was leaving. His sister had pouted and asked him to bring her back a couple of souvenirs from Kyushu. She being the only blood relation he felt anything for, he agreed. The night before the trip, he fell asleep thinking of the promise he had made to guarantee his best friend’s participation; don’t worry, I’ll protect him with my life. He absently touched his earring and went to sleep.
Female Student 19:
Chisato Matsui.
This was the first time she would be staying overnight with members of the opposite gender, even if there were separate rooms for the two groups. Yukie had assured her however, that if she felt like, there were more then enough moments where she could talk to Shuya on her own. For once in her life, Chisato felt a little bit of strength. She went to sleep and her sister noted she was smiling and blushing.
Male Student 20:
Kyoichi Motobuchi
He wasn’t as naive as his classmates. His father had discussed the trip with him several times, telling him over and over that this was strictly school related and any misbehavior would affect not only Kyoichi but his entire family. He also pointed out that he only had a few more years to study for Todai and that he had better not let his studies up over the week.
Female Student 20:
Kaori Minami.
She only took the locket off at night, too afraid of the fragile chain breaking in her sleep and being lost forever in her bed. This night she couldn’t sleep and lay looking at the gleam of metal off the streetlights outside her window. Junya, she thought, I love you. Will you wait for me?
Male Student 21:
Kazuhiko Yamamoto
He ended his call with Sakura and took the remainder of his time before bed to double-check his belongings, all the while a smile on his face. In two weeks, he and Sakura would have been dating for two years. He couldn’t hope for much time alone on this class trip, so he had already made plans for afterwards. He kept them in his desk drawer, under a picture of Sakura and himself, for safekeeping.
Female Student 21:
Yoshimi Yahagi.
She was going to be late home, but she had been too tired to do anything but walk slowly in a daze, hugging herself through the thin cloth of her clothes that Mitsuko insisted look good on her. She knew that it didn’t really matter to anyone when she got home, and that it didn’t really matter how much she packed. She looked up at the clouds and smiled anyway. After all, it only mattered that Yoji loved her, right?
The next day, they would all set off.
