It's suddenly occured to me that driving instructors have worked out a pretty good scam. They make me pay them £40 a week, in exchange for which I am scared out of my wits non-stop for two hours.  It's the kind of thing Machiavelli would be proud of.

What is it with my family and technology?

Fair enough, my elder brother is fairly competent with the stuff; even if he does break it a lot it's not because he doesn't know what he's doing.  The rest, however, are useless.  They won't even attempt to solve problems on their own any more, they just come and pester me until I fix it for them.

The Physics department has inexplicably moved to the Chemistry building. I can't see why, as I think the old Physics building was much nicer. But I really wouldn't care if the building work which was supposed to be done a month ago wasn't still going on. I'd really like to start my research project, which is worth 50% of the year.
