I cut my nails. They're not non-existent, but they are short. I mean short.  Well, short for me, anyhow. The nail is about even with the tip of my finger!

I've figured out something else that bugs me about having short nails... The dirt that all too rapidly collects under the nails is gonna drive me absolutely buggy, batty, and otherwise insane!!!

Congratulations on picking up some new instruments.
I pick up my practice chanter ever now and then, but the rest of the family make me put it back down again(apparently I have a talent for dying cow noises).
As for the nails, I never noticed them being too long or too short, but how did you avoid getting dirt under them at Faire? I was never able to do that!

That's something else I've noticed... While with long nails at faire there would always be that layer of dust that managed to accumulate on everything, shorter nails allow the dirt and grime to really get in there! And quickly!
