Using your logic, isn't it all right to expose the weaknesses of your enemies?

I did not say that. It isn't all right to expose the weaknesses of anyone.

Isn't part of becoming friends getting to know them? Wouldn't you have to learn about their weaknesses as well as their strengths? Judging others is inevitable.

You're probably an exception.

You don't have to have someone completely memorized in order to be their friends. It's all right to hide certain things from those you love. Even I've been known to do that.

Sometimes you have to... judge people, I mean.

... But most of the time, no.

[Heather's a pretty judgmental person, herself. But that said, she's totally on Minnie's side here. Because GRR BIG SISTER PROTECTIVE INSTINCTS ACTIVATE. That said, she's not actually aware that's what Minnie is talking about.]

Good, I'm glad you agree.

For the most part, yeah.

... What's this about?

... Is someone being an as-- .... a jerk to you, too?

Not to me, but to a very dear friend of mine.

What nonsense! Do you always go around talking like this?

How dare you! If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I'll say whatever I want! I don't care if it's nice either!

There's nothing wrong with judging people for their flaws! If they don't want to be judged, they should work on removing them!

Some flaws can't be removed. Like I said, no one is perfect... everyone has their own flaws.

[Aerith is going to listen intently to Minnie's words while she thinks about an answer. She can't help wonder the reason behind Minnie talking about this.]

A good friend accepts their friend's good and bad traits. If the person can't accept the bad, then the relationship will crumble under pressure.

[Tilting her head.]

Did something happen?

Very good, Aerith.

Someone has been very mean to a dear friend of mine, and I'm trying to find out who.

Why? Did your friend get into a fight with one of their friends?

Sort of... One of her most embarrassing secrets about herself came out by accident, and because of it, the other friend is being awfully rude to her, even going so far as to say they can't stand the sight of her.

Minnie-san.

[Kisame nods in greeting, and pauses to think.]

That is something that perhaps should happen, but rarely does. People are judgmental.

...I think you may be one of the very few I've ever met who isn't.

But people shouldn't judge based on things a person couldn't help!

I cannot help the way I look at home, and I was often judged for it. Whole clans were slaughtered because they were born with special skills in my original home country--I suppose I should count myself lucky that my own clan didn't meet the same fate. Judgment shouldn't yes, but it does happen all too often.

There must be ways we can change it... and it starts with confronting and convincing others.
