also i suspect that we have similar tastes in literature. i am recently really into (frankly, obsessed with) adding new books to my amazon wishlist. what are your favorite books?

A Death in the Family and The Namesake come immediately to mind, in that I found both books almost unbelievably well-crafted and was, for different reasons with each, actually moved to tears. Lahiri's short story collection is also spectacular, as is Carver's Cathedral (or anything else by him, too, right?) and D'Ambrosio's The Dead Fish Museum.

I also spend a lot of time reading contemporary poetry and texts published in antebellum America.
