Things that are shitting me at the moment:

Mel Gibson's 'Apocalypto' - seriously, does he think that attaching his name to the title of the film is going to assist in its sales? People hate him now. He's a racist, and he's a lunatic. He's obviously also now developing some sort of megalomania. The film looks like a fairly orientalist project which patronises Mayan culture and holds modern ( Read more... )

Office chair = good. It reduces risk of deep vein thrombosis. You should feel happy it is working for you.

P-Plates and .05 - don't kid yourself. .05 makes a huge difference mate. It's not all about how you drive; it's also about how quickly you can react to how some other idiot drives.

Posting about everyday things - agreed. For now on I will only think without doing, rather than do without thinking. Sadly I won't be able to write about what I've been thinking, because that will involve doing. But I'll think about writing.

Hope you're well!

Disagree with .05 thing. Alcohol + driving is bad.

Though, I must say, being off my P-plates and enjoying a glass of wine GUILT FREE when I'm out for dinner is divine! :P

I just about always post about what I did, where I went, what I ate, who I went with. If I think something while I ate, went, did, then that'll usually end up in a post too though.

Please don't delete me.

No, you're actually the exception which proves the rule.

Interestingly enough, the saying 'the exception which proves the rule' actually uses the word 'prove' in its original meaning, which is 'to test'. Hence exceptions test or challenge rules, and don't provide factual evidence in favour of them.

Cool, huh?

In regards to Apocalypto, shouldn't you hold your judgement of the film until you've seen it? And yes, Mel Gibson putting his name to it WILL make the film more money, simply because he is such a celebrity - if the celebrity is a bit off the hook - that can help to with bringing in the audiences.

With Ahh-nuld, well, I also thought it odd that he was chosen to give out such an award, but don't make the mistake of branding everyone who is affiliated with one organization the same. While George Bush is a raving Christian Right Fundie, Ahh-nuld isn't. On top of that, he is treated by other Republicans as a 'Liberal' Republican, closer to a Democrat (after all, he is a Californian Republican, one of the most Liberal states in the US).

Schwarzenegger is a registered Republican, unusual among the often heavily liberal Democratic Hollywood community. He describes himself as fiscally conservative and socially moderate (i.e., he is pro-choice and supports taxpayer-funded embryonic stem cell research). Schwarzenegger backed Republican ( ... )

I hate when the computer deletes your entry, especially when I'm just a little too inebriated to focus on the keys properly.
I think I said you clearly have low standards to friends to retain, because all I do is talk shit about nothing and I'm still on your list. However, I'm sure you know I'd turn up on your doorstep everyday with rotten fruit if you delete me. Consider yourself warned. Or tempted. Whatever your tastes.

You are a very interesting person, and I find your escapades fun and exciting.

Plus, you actually care what I write about in my livejournal, so that if I defriended you you would miss out on things you were really going to read and take in.

There are others in my flist who never respond to anything I say in here and, I am sure, rarely read my entries. So. They will soon be deleted.

You know how you drift apart from people sometimes? Yeah. That.
