Saint Francis of Assissi (take cuddly animals)
A large dog outfit with a barrel of your dram of choice (St Bernard, obviously)

Or (and this might be more like it), you could kill two birds with one stone and go for the trusty Latex Nun Outfit*!

*The beauty of which is that unlike a dog costume, you could wear it on other occasions... possibly regularly, depending on how ecclesiastically minded gently_snoozing is feeling! ;-)

Nothing says ecumenical more to me than an easy wipe nuns outfit, really that would be my first thought. My second would be something along the lines of WTF!

Actually, you get better results with a Google search for PVC nun costumes than latex ones.

In case you were interested...

As I'm reading Cadfael at the moment, how about St. Winifred, a good Welsh lass for you ;)

I love that idea! How would the garb look though? K x

Well, apparently she's often depicted as an Abbess holding a sword, sometimes with her head under her arm. I'd suggest dressing as a nun with a line around your neck to show that your head's been removed and reattached, maybe with stitches a-la Frankenstein! Sword is optional. :)

TGI's is better than nothing I suppose - is it being paid for?

I love your suggestions!
