I've seen quite a few "Tina Fey for President" signs. It's hilarious.
The fact that the Palin camp think the sketches are fun just shows how clueless they are. The effects are even made clear in the article.

Either Palin is really that stupid or she's incredibly cunning and just plays dumb to get the votes of the smallest common denominator which, sadly, is a huge number of people and the majority of voters. Scary.

My guess is that she's gambling that being seen to be a good sport and be able to laugh at herself will play a lot better with folk than taking umbrage at them and respond angrily. "Sticks & stones may break my bones, etc..."

I suspect she's gone too far the other way though, and may be seen to have missed the satirical point that they are making.

Your second point is exactly my thought.

Just been watching all the Tina Fey impressions of Sarah Palin on the Saturday Night Live website (the ads are annoying, but the video quality is excellent). Quite hilarious! It's great to see an impressionist really nail someone, especially when they get the political relevance right as well.
