i have a fun story about how i did computations one way in Excel only to discover that there is a way to accomplish the same thing that is 800x easier.

and by "fun" i mostly mean "it contributes to a dark period where everyone in my class hated the professor for the stupid task he'd assigned instead of a regular friggin paper".
