I was laid off around the first of March from both of my jobs. One project we knew was going to finish; the other stopped abruptly when the client experienced budget cuts ( Read more... )

At 35 bucks an hour, you can afford to go hermit for a year at 35/hour, not do much, save a ton of cash, then apply for other jobs elsewhere at the high pay rate you've been at for a year.

And they'll feel like it's a STEAL to get you at 30 an hour, even if it is a raise from where you are now.

Heh. I lived and worked in Kodiak for a while. Nice place in the summer, lots of suicides in the winter... You should definitely have them fly you up for an interview (in May or June!) - it's beautiful, if you like mountains and ocean and nature and stuff. ;-)

$35 an hour really isn't that much. ask for $75.
