Well, tonight's debate was rather disappointing. Frankly, I was hoping Bush would look more retarded then he did, like he did in the other two. And neither of them really answered the questions, and the questions themselves were kind of lame. The last question? How have the women in your life influenced you? What is this, Teen Magazine?
Also, the previous two debates were making me start to like Kerry, rather than just hope that he looked better then Bush. Not only did he hold himself better than Bush, but he answered the questions asked in a surprisingly impressive manner, and in most cases, the way I'd like them to be answered. I'm certianly not voting for him, but I was beginning to warm up to him. But the debate tonight- In my opinion, he didn't answer the questions directly or well, and he just seemed more and more like Bush. I always thought he was way too similar to Bush, but just as I started to see him as a sort-of alright guy who I would mind being president a lot less then Bush- it was gone. I mean, of course I'd rather him be president over Bush, but my hopes for a maybe-okay running the country guy has been dashed.
Nader's still cool, though!
Man, another thing about the debate, and the debates in general. I HATE Bush (and Kerry, for that matter) riding the whole Christian thing to get some extra votes. Answer the question about how religion influences your policies- don't rant on about how you're a born-again. I could have listed off tons of answers to that question when he was feeding undecided Christians barely-related BS to win them over. ARG. And, holy crap, I'm not even a Christian and it still pisses me off how Bush proclaims to be such a devote Christian, when barely any of actions reflect on that. Okay, he's against abortion...right. He also favors Christain non-for-profits more, which isn't even fair, and in my opinion, not in the Christian spirit. He's also against gay marriage, which is so wrong in it of itself. Isn't the bases of Christianity to embrace and love everyone? "We'd love you, but...you love the wrong people?" "We'd love to give you equal rights, but...you like the wrong body type?" What the Heck? To me, that's just like not allowing certian people to marry obese people, because, well, I'm sorry, but they were just born with the wrong chromosomes. Change your feelings and your DNA, try again, and then you can freely love who you want. That's, in every aspect, hatred. I don't care if you actually feel burning hatred inside, saying certian people can't love each other and have common human rights is absolute hatred. It's neo-racism. I hate to be hating on certain people's beliefs, but I just can't understand how this can be such a commonly accepted view when it's so obviously wrong. I consider myself open-minded, but I just can't see how people who are all about love can draw a line on who they love.
Okay, that was a real long rant.
Sorry if I'm coming off as disrespectful.
Anyway! Bush isn't only unChristian in denying civil rights to a large group of people, but, while he has the potential to do so much in his position that's loving and for the common good, he takes the completely different path. Killing and War? Uping the production of and trying protect the ownership of weapons created for the sole purpose to kill other humans? Not supplying mass aid to horribly poor countries that are in dire need of help, when it would be so simple for him do to so? Favoring those well off (times 100) over those who can't make ends meet? I could go on forever. And then he's all 'I'm so Christian'. NOT YOU'RE NOT YOU HATEFUL, HATEFUL MAN!! And the sick part is, people buy it. Ignorance and Apathy = So Lame.
I could go on... maybe I will later.
I'll leave you with some lyrics.
(Rise Against - Blood Red, White, and Blue. Amazing Song)

so come test me, so come and break me,
so come on intoxicate me
with hands tied behind my back, I fight
and wait for you to strike

a new problem we can't stop them,
we're outnumbered and uncautioned,
a rally cry rings out into the night

so pride yourself on what you are,
and hold them all to words they can't take back,
I've seen a place (it comes) to me in dreams
where fires die but light still shines for us to see

what did you have to say?
give me your logic, your definition,
the words you twist to justify your position
of mass starvation and blind airstrikes,
every problem is solved with a fight

peace won't be found,
til we're underground,
as long as we live without a sound

so pride yourself on what you are,
and hold them all to words they can't take back,
I've seen a place (it comes) to me in dreams
where fires die but light still shines for us to see

would God bless a murder of the innocents?
would God bless a war based on pride?
would God bless a money-hungry government? no.

would God bless our ineffective court system?
God bless the sweatshops we run.
would God bless Amerika?
God bless Amerika.
