If this reaches anyone, please, I have a few simple questions. I have plenty of reason to doubt that this is the Digital World, but I would like to know where this is, why I am here, and for what. Do these devices mean anything, or are they simply for communication and data collection with no deeper

[Hikari was just looking through the pokégear, seeing if there was anyone who needed any more explanation about what was going on here. It was around the time that new people really started to show up, after all. And well, Hikari definitely wanted to be helpful.

Of course, when one of those messages was heard, she froze. Just for a few moments though, she knew that voice. There was no way that she could ever forget that voice, no matter how long she had been away from her.

Tailmon was here.

She could hardly believe it. Sure, there was an actual cat here who was turned into a human, and whatever that trainer that was trying to eat a magikarp whole used to be. But a Digimon? Here?

She really should've known better than to think that it wouldn't be possible, not with how many people this place seemed to be bringing from her world. But so far, Tailmon was the first digimon that had been brought here.]

[Not that Hikari was complaining. Far from it. She could never complain about Tailmon being with her. Even if she wasn't here yet.]

Tailmon! You're here!

[Even if Hikari had wanted to hide the excitement in her voice, there was little to no way that she was going to be able to do it. Not from Tailmon, anyway.

Though she should probably answer some of those questions, shouldn't she?]

And yeah, these things are only for talking and collecting data on pokémon. And you're right, this isn't the Digital World. Not that others from home would be able to tell with how many of us Chosen are already here.

[There's a small giggle at the end of that. It really was true. Her, Daisuke, Iori, Miyako, and Yamato were all here, after all.]

[Not such a long shot after all.

A deep rush-inducing pulse of definitive relief convinces her that she's past the point of getting anything out of hiding her appearance.

Flick as modes change and Tailmon's voice is now coming out of a petite human lady.]

I've been changed, somehow - but never mind that now. [And unable to keep a beam off her face.] I was afraid we'd been separated again.

You've heard from the others?

[Hikari blinked, looking over at Tailmon for a few moments before turning her device to video as well.]

Yeah, apparently this place does that to everyone who isn't human. I've already met someone who was a cat before this. And... whatever that guy who was trying to swallow a fish whole used to be. At least you'll have it a lot easier than they do though, since you could already talk before this.

[She was beaming as well.]

And yeah, I have! Well, actually, I'm in Violet City with Daisuke-kun, Miyako-san, and Takeru-kun right now. Iori-kun's heading this way too.

Yamato-san's in this world too... though he's a bit younger than we remember him.

[Hikari blinks, as if realizing something.]

... What is the last thing you remember, though?

Don't know the name, but it's not a long shot or anything, my sister was already here when I showed up.

[Sokka stretches his shoulders a bit.]

I'm told this place is called Johto, it's a land with a lot of cities in it. Apparently you travel through them and fight monsters. But not yourself, because no weapons and no powers. You use other monsters, which is... weird, I guess, but everything's weird here, and hey, could be weirder.

Could always be weirder.

It apparently wasn't - she just contacted me. And Johto - understood.

That isn't so strange. There was a manual in the bag I was given when I found myself here - if I understand, we're partnered with these creatures to train them, assist them in gaining power. But is that truly the only purpose to our presence here?

So you come from a place where monster-fighting is semi-common? Demi-common? Or just plain common?

As for purposes... no idea. I haven't found one yet.

Common enough. The creatures of my world are not expected to violently attack each other though combat and sparring are the quickest and simplest ways to build power - as far as I've seen, humans on the whole are not unlike them. Partnership with humans to that end isn't nearly as common - at least, it hasn't been until recently - but it isn't unheard of. In the past, only select humans have been allowed into my homeworld to meet their partners, as a response to the rise of dangerous forces. They draw power from each other in a sense, so a creature with a human partner can become stronger much faster than one without one.

This seems much simpler than that, however, and I take it wherever you're from humans work little with monsters.

[A little surprised for a moment - you're the first of the others who's come to call.]

Daisuke - I know how it looks. I'm Tailmon.

Yes - I woke in the village like this. According to Hikari, this place changes all outsiders who are not human on arrival, though it sounds as if I'm the only Digimon you've heard from so far to see it happen to.

[First words that pinged him were "Digital World" and then when he listened on, he heard that whoever owns this female voice knows Hikari and--

Wait, did she just say she's her partner? He opens the video function so the other person will know who he is.]

... Excuse me? But, are you... a chosen child, too?

[She recognizes him, all right - but isn't going to confuse things further by switching functions as well just yet.]

Takeru. Not quite... Do you recognize my voice?

I guess I do, but-

[He stops as he tries to remember where he had heard it before. He knows it's familiar somehow, but he supposed that he wasn't prepared for the possibility that this place also drags Digimon that's why he unconsciously ruled that out.]

Ah! Tailmon?

[Checking his Gear, Iori stops to listen to this - the voice is familiar, then there's the mention of the Digital World, and finally, the last part of the message.

He turns on the video function.]

Tailmon?

[He's the only one of the others to get it at once besides Hikari.

No more need to hide her appearance from him, then - she also switches to video with a chuckle and nods.]

I know. She spoke to me soon after I sent that message. We plan to meet between Littleroot Town and Violet City, then return to Violet City together. My arrival won't be delaying anything, will it?

[Iori's surprise when Tailmon comes into view is clear on his face. Digimon are turned into humans here? (To look after pokémon?)

Nonetheless, Hikari and Tailmon must be happy to be together, and Tailmon doesn't seem to find it a problem.]
