So* I started doing yoga again! Since returning from Japan I've been going to classes at the local yoga center almost (but not quite) once a week ( Read more... )

Yoga is wonderful. I really have to start doing it again. I also carry all my tension in my back and shoulders, so I totally know what you mean about that. It sucks. :/

It's always odd when something physical triggers emotionally feels. I don't often run, but the few times I have, I've felt a little like I want to cry when I finish. I don't know why that happens. Just some weird phsyical/emotional trigger, I guess? It's interesting to think about, but not so fun to experience.

As to the headache/congestion issue, I wonder if it would help if you took a decongestant before class? Maybe then it would have time to get into your body and be ready to deal with the floodgates when they open.

That's a good idea about the decongestant, I might try that. It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't doing yoga first thing in the morning before work. But now that the weather's all cold and rainy again, it's pretty much guaranteed I won't go to class after work. XD

that's an interesting reaction. i love doing yoga (pilates absolutely kills me @.@) and whenever i do exercise, i feel good and happy, due to the release of endorphins. i've never seen or heard anyone getting weepy ^^;;

...it's a good way to release frustration and stress? by crying and working out at the same time ^^;;

I do get that happy endorphin feeling sometimes! More often than not, which is part of the reason I keep going back. :) I know a few people who cry during yoga - in fact, the woman who used to teach me said she cried off and on her whole first year. More recently, a girl on the mat next to me was also crying. I was glad I wasn't alone, especially since she showed me where the tissues were. XD

Yeah, double whammy! I don't actually mind it too much, except for the little practical details like runny noses and headaches.

Oh wow... that's kind of amazing, actually, that yoga can do that for you. I hope you do keep it up since it seems to be something that really works for you! <3

Yeah, it's pretty powerful stuff. Thanks, I plan to!

Off topic, but I love your Merlin mood theme. That show cracks me up. XD

haha, thanks XD I have to resist selecting my mood now according to which picture of Merlin or Arthur I like rather than my actual mood... and sometimes I don't resist LOL

I'm glad you like it! Merlin is such fun!

I know this quite well. It happened all the time when we were doing meditation.

All that I can say is to keep going and listen to what your intuition says. Oh yeah, and don't go too far too fast. If your in so much pain then your doing too much, do what it necessary to get the right mojo working. No need to go all OLYMPIC GYMNASTICY!

Good luck with Yoga and take care!
