Ward Park is where I  sit
Sheltered from this Summer heat in Spring
(Visions of McCubbin's wife and I "On The Wallaby Track").
In a corner of this inner-city bush
Theraputic and kind

A silence of sorts...

Relaxation of the mind
As my back arrogantly shuns
The noise of automobiles
On the move up and down Devonshire Street;
 their destinations work or play.

Hi Ian.... I couldn't find your nominated best entry for week 6 (maybe I missed it???) but overall this is an outstanding collection of creative work. You really are developing as a poet and are really able to capture the feeling and significance of local events in your life. I find this far more compelling than the more wide ranging fantasy stories that you were into last semester. But my only suggestion for the last few weeks of the unit is for you to also use LJ to reflect more immediately on some of the readings we are doing in class... how do these connect with your own experience? Where do you find points of contact with writers we are studying.... but overall I am so pleased that you have found this a space to really evolve as a creative artist. Well done!!!
