I can definitely see why physicians become workaholics. There's something uniquely gratifying about taking care of people. Rico and I have had multiple conversations about how one's perspective changes once someone close to us passes away. It is a hard reality to accept and an even harder leap of understanding to logic through continuing on with life despite their absence.

I started my residency training officially on June 12th. The first week was spent going over BLS and ACLS for the first two days, PALS for the next two, and NRP for the last day. In the past week, I graduated, signed an apartment to live with the love of my life, had some amazing family and friends gathered to celebrate my graduation party, and lastly, got invited to have the great responsibility of being the maid of honor for one of my favorite people's weddings ( Read more... )

So as of today, I completed all of my coursework for my medical degree! At this point, I no longer consider myself a student. I turned in my last assignment for my creativity in medicine course.
