And why, again, do you not have suitors serenading you every night, with such bounties on offer? ^_^ Indeed, that's the wonderful/terrible thing about slow cookers - those aromas just permeate the house deliciously. =:9 Speaking of which, I should use mine a bit more often - it's such an easy means of cooking, letting all the herbs and other influences permeate through the meat and starchy vegetables, rendering just about anything delectably tender, whether silverside or chickpeas/garbanzo beans.
BTW, I don't suppose you know of anywhere for cheap saffron? Being such a big ingredient in India, you'd think there'd be more of it making its way to the Bay or the UK cheaply.
I'd nudge about photos, but I know all too well how such dishes can be anything but photogenic, whilst being utterly irresistible. ^_^

Saffron, sadly I don't know. I don't use a ton of it. It's a fairly subtle flavor and I'm not, admittedly, a subtle sort of cook. Probably the best places to look for it would be turkish and indian stores.
*laugh* Oh yes, that's one of the joys of the slow cooker too. Smelling the roast about 3 hours before it's edible. I hope you drank the wine. Life is too short not to drink the wine.
