Trying to be much better about posting (though I haven't had a chance to catch up with READING this week) It helps if I have a picture or something I want to post which is why you've been getting inundated by them lately ( Read more... )

I could probably stand on it if I really wanted to, it's built to last. I love that I can fold it up if it's in the way too. It is a LITTLE higher than I envisioned at it's lowest but it's almost the right height to eat off of from the couch.

I'm very happy with the table.

They could have probably used a light glaze of frosting. But only because I didn't add any sugar to the pastry. The one I had so far the pastry was also a little thick but I knew the last few I made were thicker than the first ones so the others are probably just about right. They were much easier to make than I expected! Messy though.

Mmm, those homemade pies do look delicious. I think it's a good call to try nomming them without frosting, gives you the opportunity to try all kinds of things. Drizzle honey and sprinkle cinnamon or cocoa on them, say, or use apricot preserves or some other jam as a topping...

Nice looking table!

They probably need something since I didn't put sugar in the pastry. But some of them are filled far more successfully, I think, than the one that I tried.

You do realise of course, that the second I get into town, I'm going to be collaring you to get a DSLR? =:)

The table does indeed look magnificent.

And I am reminded that I ought to enquire after the ultimate pasty recipe. Dad declined taking over the business as a poker debt, so I ought to be able to obtain the secret for personal use. ^_^ (Basically, it's a matter of straddling shortcrust and puff - not nearly as crumbly as shortcrust, but not really puffy either)
