[there's a small grunt of pain (or, rather, annoyance, for it's far from the worst he's felt) -- it's the first time he's touched the communicator in over a month, and it's been sending out shocks for some time now from its spot on his shelf. With food coloring! You put the color in a glass of water and then you water the plants with it... and they suck up the color! It works with white roses.
