The video doesn't work for me, but your mum clearly rocks (unsurprisingly). Don't suppouse you happen to know of a copy online do you? Google has been turning up news storys and discussion sites rather than anything even vaugely complete, let alone authoritative.

the version on the website doesn't seem to be downloadable -- and it requires windoze media to view on a mac.

she didn't actually say all that much, though -- just that this doesn't change much about our knowledge of judas or jesus. it does add to what we know about what some early christian communities believed, or at least, the stories they told themselves. it doesn't really change mainline Catholic or Protestant beliefs, though, because they already view all non-canonical texts as wrong at best, and worse, heretical. my mom, of course, doesn't think that either the new testament versions or the gnostic texts are historically accurate -- they just represent the early Christians whose viewpoints dominated versus those who were persecuted.

Cool about your mom. Being the History of Religions BA, I've been really curious about the whole gospel of Judas thing, and was wondering when I'd see it on LJ. Seems overdue. :)
