Title: Dreadful Longing (II)
Rating: R
Summary: Red Riding Hood and the Wolf again. Because she did go back.
Author's note: I have no excuse, so let's just say the characters insisted and I was too fond of them to refuse. With thanks to geekmama for beta reading!

It is you. I don't get that many anonymous comments, but I wasn't sure since you usually write your name. It's lovely to hear from you and thanks so much again. *beams*

Did you ever read a series of books written I believe in the 80s or 90s which were edited by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling? They were short story collections of 'mature' fairy tales - mature meaning not just far more sexually explicit but extremely bloody. I remember one of them being called Black Thorn, White Rose but I can't recall the names of the others. It was here I first learned that fairy tales were originally very different to the Disney sugar coated versions everyone's familiar with.

Although I do remember a version of Rapunzel I read as a kid where the prince's eyes were gouged out with scissors - gave me nightmares!

No, I haven't, though it sounds familiar, so I might have seen (or heard about) the books at some point. I'll have to check them out if I find them. And I don't wonder that gave you nightmares!

I think I'm in love with you*clears throat* That was...I mean, that simply was.

I mean, good God, woman. How do you do it? How do you make things fit and yet keep their own shape when you put them together? I mean, does that even make sense? 'cause it doesn't, but you do it! AAAAAAAAH.

I'll simply bow. And say...no, not pretty, but fearless, and friggin' awesome.

Glad it held up on re-reading ;-) I like these characters rather a lot, so it isn't improbable I'll write more, but no promises yet, and I still have the requests to finish!
