I listened to your thoughts. I find the Genie case pretty disturbing. I also find it really odd that it would even be discussed whether being barked at whilst chained to a chair would affect someone's communication.
I think child abuse is, sadly, rife in Korea. It's probably rife all over the world, ugh how glib. Have you ever seen the still-face experiment? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apzXGEbZht0 I personally feel that smacking is allowable (LE GASP!) if and when a child is too small to reason with, and when they are continuing to do something which will lead to them being really injured. I'm not surprised that Korea loves the "bad stuff makes you stronger", based on their history. I am being so glib, but I don't mean to be. Working with small people has made my vocabulary shrink. Sorry. Will shush now.
